Enbridge Red Tag

Enbridge Red Tag

If an Enbridge red tag has been placed on one of your appliances, we will inspect your equipment and help you manage the steps you need to take next.

Enbridge Red TagAn Enbridge red tag, or product warning tag, may be placed on a gas appliance by one of our technicians here at Cynergy Mechanical Ltd. to indicate that the equipment is no longer safe to operate, and that repair or replacement measures need to be taken. In certain circumstances, we may be required to turn off your building’s gas supply in order to protect those in your building.

If we identify the need to place an Enbridge red tag on one of your appliances, it will either be a Type A tag or a Type B tag. Type A tags are used in cases in which an immediate danger is present, such as when a severe carbon monoxide leak is occurring. Comparatively, Type B tags are used when the appliance does not pose an immediate or severe safety risk to those in the building. This tag gives you a specified period of time to either have your equipment repaired or replaced. If you do not take corrective action within that time period, the local utility may turn off your natural gas.
